To our dismay the lifespan of the dog is approximately seven times less than that of a person. This means that during our lives we can enjoy the company of various dogs which without doubt enriches our lives with their individual personalities. Throughout all of those there is normally that special one and for us it was Puskin. Born on April 23 2004 and passed away on June 11 2008 as the cause of a stroke, a short life for a great dog which leaves us with an emptiness that will be very hard to fill. He left home at the age of two months to go to Valencia to convert into a show dog, but his owner returned him at the age of fifteen months because he “couldn´t shape up to size” and furthermore this and everybody agreed of whom I asked an expert opinion. We accepted Puskin with great content we warned the old owner that quality that we saw in him was referred to the same dog but he totally declined the option to keep it as his property. Due to the little work that was conducted with Puskin en his first life stage, we quickly put in as much time and work as possible and necessary to bring forward the champion status that he was carrying within him. This was not only at exposition level but also on a personal level, converting Puskin into a family dog with an exceptional character filled with happiness and youth which was transmitted on a day to day basis. He made us realize in only a few months that he might be ready to participate in an exposition because of his quick learning process combined with his steady growth and putting on the necessary muscle and weight, which was a huge improvement as he was quite slim. In only about 5 months he participated in his first show which was the International Exposition of Porto in January 21 2006 and in this show he actually won the necessary point for the Portuguese Championship and finishing within the best examples of group II. Puskin retired from expositions on February 3 2008 in the International Show of Zaragoza, handing over his throne to one of his sons, Merlin, who achieved the best of race in the same show. In 24 month he participated in 31 shows in Spain, Portugal, Gibraltar, Luxembourg, Poland and Finland in which he obtained 16 CAC, 15 CACIB, 17 Best in Race, 4 Best of Group II and 3 Best in Show. He obtained the following championships:
Ch. Spain 2008
Ch. Luxemburg 2007
Ch. Portugal 2006
Ch. Gibraltar 2006
Ch. Shows International
Winner Lisboa 2006
Winner Porto 2007
Sincerely we have to say that he gave us a lot of satisfaction in the ring, but we won´t remember Puskin for his achievements or his championships, but for his excellent character y peculiar personality which made him totally different from the rest. There will always be a space in our hearts reserved for YOU. No member of our family will ever forget you …. you left a footprint in our lives which will not be possible to wipe out. Rest in peace.
